Practical, functional and lovingly crafted, TRIBE transmits primal resonance within a polished surface, but its character is strikingly organic. The base of each design is a stacked system of brutalist simplicity and mass, topped with a horizontal plane for the tabletop or seat. Running throughout all designs is a perfectly carved banded motif of pyramidic studding, emblematic of tribal markings, carvings, body scarification and also of Punk paraphernalia and hardware. The design language and motif symbolism suggest a confluence of cultural iconography and heritage that imbues each piece with an embedded narrative beyond mere aesthetics of a design product.
